To find out which movie directors are America's most-loved, YouGov surveyed people in the US and ranked the filmmakers based on who had the highest percentage of respondents that viewed them positively. Using YouGov's findings, we visualized the most popular directors in the chart below.

The most popular director overall is Steven Spielberg, with 72 percent of those surveyed expressing a positive opinion of him. The second favorite is Walt Disney, with 68 percent, followed by Alfred Hitchcock, with 67 percent.

Somewhat surprisingly, "Killers of the Flower Moon" director Martin Scorsese ranks tenth (or joint-ninth) on the list, with just 59 percent of respondents having something nice to say about him.
