Just how much wealth do the richest people in finance have? The top 10 wealthiest finance folks have a combined net worth of $446.9 billion dollars, according to recent Forbes data from February 2024.

Topping the list is Warren Buffett, the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Nearly two-thirds of Buffett's portfolio is invested in only three stocks: 42.9 percent in Apple, 10 percent in Bank of America and nine percent in American Express.

The second-richest financial figure in the country is failed Presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The only woman who made the top 10 is Abigail Johnson, the CEO and president of Fidelity Investments, whose $28.3 billion net worth puts her eight on the list.

Others on the list include hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin (founder and CEO of Citadel), Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, investor Jim Simons (who used maths to beat the market), a guy who developed the electronic trading platform for securities, an Indonesian tobacco and financial baron, a major Republican donor and owner of multiple sports franchises — including the Cleavland Cavaliers — Dan Gilbert.
