There are many strikingly beautiful and impressively weird homes on this green earth, and, luckily for us, lots of them are shared on the internet. In our continued mission to bring you the best real estate the US and beyond has to offer, we've rounded up some of the finest properties that were on sale in October.
Happy scrolling.
Palm Springs, California — $1,850,000
This four-bed, five-bath home in Palm Springs was built in 1965, and it appears the decor has remained unchanged since that decade. Every inch of the house is decked in color (mostly red), not least the swanky sunken living room that comes with a bar. I probably shouldn't like the green velvet bed situation, but I really do.
According to the listing, 1240 S Manzanita Ave was the home of "Plumber to the Stars" Jack Stephan, whose neighboring houses were once lived in by Audrey Hepburn, William Holden, Elizabeth Taylor, Liberace and Loretta Young — so whoever buys this place will own a very chic little bit of history.

La Crescenta, California — $7,997,000
If you recognize this striking piece of architecture, it might be from our ranking of celebrity houses — because this is Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea's 5.7 acre hilltop compound in California.
The beautifully designed, sprawling home consists of an original structure, built in 1953, and a newer addition, completed in 2021. There's also a 50-foot pool overlooking the mountains, which is pretty nice.

Painesville, Ohio — $400,000
American artist Wayne Trapp's "Chant du Cygne" is on sale to the public for the first time in more than 20 years. Built in 1970, the deceptively large concrete structure accommodates five bedrooms, three bathrooms and spacious living area.
If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind home, you'll be pressed to find one more unusual (or more reasonably priced).

Vingåker, Sweden — ~$807,000
We're heading across the pond to Sweden for our final item on the list. This property, located in the country's Vingåker municipality, pays homage to the Viking warriors of old with two impressively designed and decorated residences on one plot of land.
With handcrafted sculptures, a fireplace, an outdoor barbecue and kitchen area and more, it seems no expense was spared ensuring this place comes as close to an authentic Viking experience as can be achieved in the 21st century.
