The following list of movies are all free titles — with ads or ad-free if you pay for the premium YouTube Red. Presumably, most of these will rotate, although a few have stayed around for a while, like several of the films previously listed in roundups.
Many of the older movies, as well as several good documentaries, have all been free for months. Those are all included in the honorable mentions at the bottom of this article. It would be impossible to watch them all in that time — and most of them are bad filler — so here are some recommendations, in no particular order.
Trailers have been linked for films that don't allow full embeds.
'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore' (1974)
This is one of Martin Scorsese's earliest films, and won Ellen Burstyn an Oscar for Best Actress. So if you're on the "Killers of the Flower Moon" hype train and want to keep the good times rolling, maybe check this romantic comedy drama out.
'The Firm' (1993)
Remember when John Grisham novel adaptations and sexy legal thrillers were all the rage? They were supplanted by superhero movies, but for a brief window, stars like Tom Cruise could light the silver screen on fire.
'48 Hrs.' (1982)
In the '70s and early '80s, Eddie Murphy built his career on three things: stand-up comedy, carrying "SNL" on his back and being in hit comedy films that were way better than they had any right to be. One of them was "Beverly Hills Cop" and the other is this classic, starring Nick Nolte.
'Big Trouble in Little China' (1986)
John Carpenter deserves so much more respect than he gets. The creators of "Mortal Kombat" owe this film everything. Kim Cattrall's career owes this film everything. Kurt Russell, the leading man, owes this film everything. You should watch just for James Hong, too.
'Point Break' (1991)
Keanu. Swayze. Surfing, shooting, bank robbing, romance, friendship and California sunshine. What else do you need in an action film, exactly?
