Everything costs more now, and we're all taking a hit in the checkbook (except for the ultra rich). Some people might be exaggerating a bit, but there is no denying that we're being screwed by companies looking to inflate their bottom line. Butter. Used to be $2-4 for a double pack of two pounds of butter, at Walmart. Now, two years later, it's $7-8. Big Butter was looking at the billions that eggs were raking in and was like, hold my beer... I was relieved when the outcry got eggs to lower their prices, which is appropriate, as a basic simple cheap staple food. Which butter is also. Where's the outcry? (Thanks to Imperial margarine, still $1.49 a pound)
