With Christmas round the corner, Statista surveyed more than 1,000 US adults to find out which presents people across America would be most pleased to receive this year.

It turns out the most-wanted gift isn't really a gift at all, it's money โ€” as much as half of women and 36 percent of men say they'd happily receive cash or a transfer for Christmas.

There's further overlap between men and women when it comes to other desired gifts, with both sharing vouchers or gift cards and clothing and shoes as their second- and third-most desired presents, respectively.
