There's lively debate around which of the US states have the most confrontational drivers (see here and here), but which generations are mostly likely to rage behind the wheel?

To find out which age groups are most likely to exhibit road rage, NextBase surveyed 1,391 drivers from around the world. They also looked at the most common forms of driver aggression, as well as which cars are most frequently involved in road rage incidents.

Key Findings:

  • Millennials make up almost half of aggressive drivers (46.65 percent), while 21.4 percent belong to Gen X.

  • Nearly 60 percent of those surveyed say they've been a victim of road rage.

  • The most common form of road rage is tailgating (27.21 percent).

  • Ford owners are involved in more road rage incidents than drivers of any other car brand (9.25 percent).

If Tailgating is the most common form of road rage, people need to stop driving slow in the left lane. The left lane is for passing.
