Meta has previewed Muse Charm, a palm-sized device designed as a dedicated way to talk to the company's Muse AI agent. Mark Zuckerberg showed the gadget at Meta Connect 2026 and said a press on its fingerprint sensor starts a conversation without first unlocking a phone or opening an app.
The Charm looks like a compact screen with a lanyard rather than a conventional phone or smartwatch. The Verge reports that the demonstration showed what appears to be a small camera and several microphone openings. The display gives Muse a face through the Jolly avatar, while Meta says the device carries its real-time voice system in a form that fits in a pocket.
A shortcut to Muse, not a finished product
The pitch is speed and availability. Meta already offers Muse through an app, the web, WhatsApp and a Mac desktop client, but Charm is meant to keep the agent one physical action away. Zuckerberg described it as the fastest way to reach Muse when a person is not wearing Meta's AI glasses.
Meta has not yet explained an important part of that promise: how the device connects to the company's servers or how much it can do on its own. The company also has not announced a price, battery life or complete hardware specifications. Those omissions make this a product preview rather than a finished launch.
December is still a target
Meta is aiming to ship Muse Charm in time for the December holidays, according to TechCrunch. Zuckerberg said the team had built only a few units and was still finalizing the component layout and exterior material. Meta's own Connect recap says more details will arrive later this year.
That prototype status matters because dedicated AI gadgets have often struggled to justify themselves beside a phone. Charm's case depends on whether the quicker interaction is useful enough to offset carrying another device, and on still-unknown basics such as price, charging and network access. Meta has shown the intended experience, but the details needed to judge the product are still to come.
