Florida dad stole 400 pounds of avocados to get cash for kids’ Christmas presents

An unemployed Florida dad, Edel Perez, was caught stealing 400 pounds of avocados from a farm in Redland, Miami, intending to sell them for Christmas presents for his children. Perez was apprehended by a deputy who found him in the act and was subsequently charged with third-degree grand theft and trespassing on an agricultural site.
