The Best One Hit Wonders Of The '90s, According To Reddit
Nostalgia for the 1990s has hit an all time high, and Reddit wanted to remember some great songs from artists who never had another hit in their careers.

Do you remember "Sex and Candy" by Marcy Playground or "Bitter Sweet Symphony" by The Verve? Remember the sensation that was "Cotton Eye Joe?" Then you grew up in the '90s, a time when the Macarena was the biggest cultural event to happen between the OJ Simpson trial and the Bill Clinton impeachment. Reddit reminisced about the best one hit wonder of the decade, the one song from an artist that made you crank it up to 11 and then they never released another worthwhile hit again.

Digg's favorite is "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors, or "Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai. Let us know your favorite in the comments below, as long as it's not "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice.

These, and much more that were released at the time, not only defined a decade but also a generation. They really don't make songs like these anymore. Thank God for the internet (and YouTube specifically), I still go back every now and then and play these songs for my children. These songs are absolutely timeless and, when played, brings you back to simpler times.

  2. Thank you for sharing this amazing thread. My sister and I couldn’t believe how much we remembered about these songs.

Closing Time by Semisonic needs to be on this list. By the way, "So You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star" by Jacob Slichter is a book about what it's like to be in a band with one hit, amazing read!

Lol, kids. Jamiroquai are not 'one hit wonders'. Cosmic Girl, Little L, Space Cowboy, Canned Heat, Love Foolosophy, Too Young To Die, Deeper Underground, You Give Me Something, and so on.

Yeah. They were TOP OF THE CHARTS here in Paris (and I'm sure most of Western Europe) for quite some time.
