Five Nostalgic Game Shows That Deserve A Reboot
While game shows like "Family Feud," "Password" and "Match Game" have been rebooted countless times, these game shows, some from over 40 years ago, deserve that chance too.

For many bored minds out there, leaving on Game Show Network or Nick GaS as background noise was the pathway to watching some interesting game shows. There have been countless shows that've aired since the '80s, but not all of them have been given a second chance. Instead of settling for syndicated reruns, we think these five shows deserve a come back in some shape or form, whether that's in a totally new capacity or something modified — because they had the potential to be bigger.

Do you have any game shows that you'd like to see brought back? Let us know in the comments, especially if you like the new "Supermarket Sweep" that aired a few years ago.

'Finders Keepers' (1987-1989)

This is an oldie, but a goodie for those who will remember the late '80s and early '90s reruns, like I do. Kids tearing apart gigantic rooms in an exaggerated and extremely large house looking for a needle in a haystack? What's not to love. Solving the riddle and find the hidden object leads to prizes, which I feel like could have a lot of potential for fun, gimmicky, rooms and would be a great counterpunch to Netflix's "Floor is Lava."

'Classic Concentration' (1987-1991)

One of the many game shows Alex Trebek would end up hosting alongside his "Jeopardy!" gig, this game show was revived and rebooted three times — ultimately becoming the "Classic" version of solving rebus puzzles, stealing prizes from contestants on a master list and having to remember which prizes were behind which numbered square. It's a shame this never kept going, even without Trebek, but then again, you could have thought that after the departures of Jack Barry, Hugh Downs, Bob Clayton and Ed McMahon.

'Beat the Geeks' (2001-2002)

One of Comedy Central's early 2000s attempts at a game show, "Beat the Geeks" was the beta version of "Mastermind," which is currently being broadcast. Your task as a contestant is to answer trivia questions, but not only do you have to be better than the opponent — you also have to better than the "Geeks," or field experts experts who know more than anybody else about the inanity and specifics of each case. There were a ton of cameos from celebs and guest Geeks who specialized in various topics (like toys, wrestling, horror, etc.), and this one should have kept going on another network long after its two season run.

'Nick Arcade' (1992)

Video games have never been more popular than they are right now (check out "Fallout"), and having kids compete in them is no longer confined to a game show; it's everywhere now. With the rise of eSports and green screen special effects, you could really max out a cool new version of this with more popular games — like "Minecraft," "Roblox," "Fortnite" — or any fighting game on the market. And Phil Moore is still around to host! He's great, bring him back too.

'Win Ben Stein's Money' (1997-2003)

We know what you're thinking, and yes, Ben Stein (formerly of the Nixon administration) has said some awful things in recent years. So instead, you can replace him and make this game show about taking somebody else's money! Jimmy Kimmel was the host for a while, and while he went onto bigger and better things in life, maybe it would be a cool twist to see him come back — and contestants have to win Jimmy's money instead.
