Sure, sure, you could hit the bars and drink a bunch of green beer this weekend — that's fine if you're into being social and having fun. But what about settling down with a bottle of Coors from the fridge, some green food dye from the 2010s and an all-time great sci-fi movie in your living room instead?

Since you probably already have a subscription to Hulu, Netflix or both, you can watch some of our absolute faves for no additional cost. After all, the illusion of free movies is almost as good as actually free films. So let's dive in and brush up on some genre classics.

'Ghostbusters' — Hulu

If you're a Gen X or Millennial nerd, there is roughly an 89.743 percent chance that you have some hardcore nostalgia based around this beloved sci-fi-comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman. None of the sequels have quite lived up to the original, but thankfully it holds up to rewatches. A lot of rewatches.

'Everything Everywhere All At Once' — Netflix

If you haven't already seen this multiverse film from The Daniels, you're missing out on some of the best action we've had in decades, and it's filled with a lot of heart — especially when all too many of its peers don't even bother gesturing toward this kind of sincere relationship drama. How it manages to deliver all of that while being outrageously funny is beyond comprehension.

'The Abyss' — Hulu

With blockbuster films like "The Terminator," "Titanic" and "Avatar" attached to James Cameron, it's easy to forget some of his other incredible work. However, "The Abyss" is still a wonderful movie all these decades later, and that Michael Biehn performance is still fun to watch. The CG is dated, sure, but bad CG doesn't stop people from seeing modern Marvel movies, right?

'Jurassic Park' — Netflix

This is easily the most watchable film ever made. Steven Spielberg has made some really friggin' good movies, there's no argument here, but none of them deliver the pure excitement of this parable of the hubris of man. Jeff Goldblum is clearly having a great time, and the dinos hold up.

'Blade Runner 2049' — Hulu

Following up the original "Blade Runner" is an impossible task, but Denis Villeneuve did an excellent job making something of his own and set in that same world. Ryan Gosling is superb as a goofball in "Barbie," but his dramatic chops are really shown off in "2049."

'Looper' — Netflix

This is the film that brought director Rian Johnson into the mainstream. He's now better known for "The Last Jedi" and "Knives Out," but every nerd worth their salt was raving about "Looper" in the early 2010s. Its clever take on time travel makes it easy to compare it to the greats like "Back to the Future" and "The Terminator."

'Dune' — Hulu

A Denis Villeneuve movie makes the list again, but it's easy to see why. "Dune 2" has been getting outstanding reviews, so you should take advantage of your subscription to catch up on part one before watching the sequel. Just lay off the spice some, okay?
