If The US Does Ban TikTok, These Are The Videos You Need To See Before The App Goes Dark
A bipartisan House coalition passed a bill on March 13, 2024, supporting the sale of TikTok, the Chinese-owned social media app, or for it to be banned. After a 352-65 vote in favor, there is no definite timeline for what happens next, and it also looks like the Senate will take its own sweet time on this issue. Around the world there more than 10 places with restrictions on TikTok, including a complete ban in India since 2020.
"What we're after is, it's not a ban, it's a forced separation," said Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis), chair of the House Select Committee on China and GOP's lead sponsor on the bill.
If China doesn't divest, the app will be banned in the US. If the app does get banned in the US, and TikTok content enters into its lore-era, a la Vine, then here are some of the most outrageous TikToks people have seen, and want to make sure that you do too.
