Helldivers 2 update 7.1.0 gives the Stratagem Hero arcade cabinet a more local rivalry. Each Super Destroyer now keeps a separate leaderboard, and anyone visiting that ship can record a score. Arrowhead says each player gets one entry, preventing one person from occupying several high-score slots.
The same patch stops enemies from targeting unoccupied vehicles and fixes career-stat tracking for kills made with mines, vehicles, drones and backpacks. It also addresses a rare network-related state that could leave players unable to reinforce even after a squadmate threw the reinforcement stratagem or the full squad died.
More pressure when squads split
Arrowhead changed how the game distributes enemies across a separated team. The system now measures pressure using enemy count and distance. When the global enemy cap is reached, new enemies should favor a player facing relatively little pressure, while distant enemies can be removed when the game is over budget. The stated goal is to reduce cases where one player encounters an empty outpost while action piles up elsewhere.
Evacuate High-Value Assets missions are also meant to become more demanding, particularly for three- and four-player groups. The patch increases the possible number of waves and enemies per wave. The opening delay between waves drops from 60 to 42 seconds, the late-mission delay falls from 40 to 28 seconds, and the maximum gap after clearing a wave shrinks from 10 seconds to 2. Those missions can now include Shriekers and SEAF troops, and their generators display health percentages.
Grenades, recoil and cooldowns
The AR/GL-21 One-Two receives the “more grenades” highlighted by the official Helldivers 2 account. Its underbarrel launcher now starts with three rounds instead of two, while maximum spare ammunition and refill amounts both rise from three to five.
The LAS-13 Trident's vertical climb recoil falls from 12 to 2 after Arrowhead traced the stronger kick to an unintended beam-system change. Orbital Precision Strike cooldown drops from 90 to 80 seconds. Melta Mines can no longer attach to characters or vehicles, though they can still rest on a sufficiently level surface.
Update 7.1.0 also carries a long repair list spanning crashes, weapon audio, enemy clipping, mission objectives, UI behavior and platform-specific problems. Among the fixes are an Xbox tree-rendering issue, keyboard-control failures involving some Microsoft IME languages, and Eagle rearming being blocked by anti-air emplacements.
