Why Wyoming Is One Of America's Emptiest States And Ten-Times Less Densely Populated Than Neighbor Colorado
After Alaska, Wyoming is the least dense place in America, and is on par on emptiness with the likes of Australia and Namibia. Here's why the state, with less than 600,000 people in it, is so empty.

Excluding country music, which/who is the coolest band/artist from Wyoming and which/who is the coolest from Colorado?

I have nothing to add other than the phrase "[some number] times less" is meaningless. PLEASE STOP USING IT! You meant to say it is 1\10 or one tenth the size. Mathematically 10x less would be n - (n * 10).
So if n were say 10 it would be 10 - (10*10) or 10 - 100 which would equal -90. Sorry, it is just something that really grinds my gears.

Wyoming is too high, too dry, and too cold. The people there benefit from massive government subsidies and pretend like they are self sufficient. The old white Nimbys act like their families have love there for millennia, rather than a couple or three generations at most. It's just a big game preserve for wealthy white people. I lived there for years and most of the people are insufferable. No, I'm not a liberal. The whole place just needs an attitude adjustment.

If more places had this attitude there would be far fewer problems. I lived and worked in Cheyenne for a year and loved the attitude up there. I grew upin Colorado and I now live in Alaska because of the problems that have come into the state.

Alaska is another big suck of everyone else's tax dollars....just sayin.

Just moved from Casper. Loved the state and folks there with all my heart. Yes you don't belong if you are liberal and want everyone there to listen to you whine...pull up your big boy pants and stop feeling the world owes you a living. Wyoming tries very hard to keep outsiders on the outside. I LOVED the place and the people. The wind could be hard to take at times, but it was worth it. We loved our small population, it endeared us to each other. If you don't like the attitude (like bscstock), perfect...we don't care nor are you welcome to bring your baggage and bad attitude. We'd say to you, thanks for visiting, now please go home!

Be sure not to whine when you lose your income, have a health catastrophe or an 'act of God' takes everything from you. You don't believe in community so no community should believe in you.

Wyoming is the 6th biggest dependent on federal funds in the union. But please, keep talking about your big boy pants and how the world doesn't owe you a living.

Isn't Colorado like California politically? Wyoming seems to be a more conservative state.

I'm a Wyomingite, thats quite proud of the fact, no one lives here. There 2 roads into & out of Wyoming-
I-80 E & W & I-25 N & S. Yu'all can come visit, but find one of the interstates to go home. We protect our privacy & our open spaces. It's been said Wyoming isn't a friendly state, it's true if you all want to move here & bring your liberal thinking, we're not friendly.
We don't want to be told to removing books from schools & library's because u don't like the contents, we don't want to be told how to raise our children-specify teaching children about trans, they/them/he/it or what every words folks want to themselves. We believe a woman is a woman & a man is a man. If you can't handle our privacy, our believes...Colorado will gladly take on new folks.

Wow down right Christian of you. You think that liberals are the ones that ban books?

Love the post. Will you accept a retired Marine who shares your values and way of thinking? I spent many years visiting my family there and am real close to full retirement, so looking to settle there.

      1. Kyle Wise (Ky) 1 year ago

Nope. You are probably a great guy, but it's a hard pass. Honestly, Wyomingites should consider anyone from out of state an illegal immigrant.

So are you the decider of who is allowed in? If the state is full of people with that attitude then I wouldn't even drive through and spend a dime in your state.

          1. Easton N 11 months ago

Don’t worry. Kyle’s attitude isn’t welcomed by Wyomingnites. I can guarantee you most Wyomingnites will welcome anyone as long as you have respect for Wyoming or its beautiful nature! I’ve spent a lot of time in Wyoming as an outsider, and the people in Wyoming are extremely nice. I promise you Kyle is like 0.1% of Wyomingnites.

        2. bcstock1001 1 year ago

Take your attitude and and put it where the sun doesn't shine.

Look, we are a culture unto ourselves. People that don't share our culture are a threat to our way of life, and if we tolerate multiculturalism of any kind, what makes Wyoming great will disappear in a flash. You can be a Republican from Texas that loves to hunt and loves the outdoors, and still, you are not a part of our culture. Unless you are one of us, you'll never understand this. It can't be explained to you or understood by you. I'm sorry.

I’m from a very similar state to Wyoming (Montana), and I disagree with a lot of what you said. I understand that Wyoming has a lot of great things to preserve, but when someone wants to move to somewhere and be welcomed, you have no rights to treat them badly without even knowing the person. Also, your logic is actually what going to make Wyoming disappear. I’m not talking about multiculturalism; however, development is actually what Wyoming needs at the moment, not the opposite way. Wyoming’s rather monogamous economy is what holding Wyoming back. Lack of industries have caused Wyoming to lose people constantly and made the whole state rather sad. Montana, where I live, does much better than Wyoming because we have a much more diverse economy. We’re still able to preserve the old west lifestyle while developing quickly to keep up with the pace of the rest of the country. Wyoming has been losing people consistently every year. Most people left Wyoming are actual native Wyomingnites as well, so I think many of them would disagree with you. Many of them have flocked to Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Wyoming is the only state in the Rocky Mountains that is experiencing a population decline right now, so the last thing it needs is someone festering negativity about outsiders wanting to move to Wyoming.

Know what? Your "culture" is the same in many of the rural, uncultured areas of these great United States. You're not special. Just ignorant.
