Lopburi, Thailand, known as "Monkey City," has become a source of economic empowerment for locals. So much so that a neutering and spaying program has been launched to help control the monkey population.
Many of these animals have become so dependent on humans that they can no longer fend for themselves. Therefore, it's important to control overpopulation, as seen during the COVID lockdowns when monkeys started fighting for resources.
