In Albania whilst sleeping this black bear laid next to me whilst I was in my bag ,I stroked the bear by his ears and ribs the greatest thrill of my life he groaned a very low growl like noise ,I suppose the bear was purring but the bear stayed couple hrs then saw I was no threat he walked away I showed no fear I could not run so I talked gently and stroked the bear,I said to the bear in a high pitched patronising condescending manner who would taste nice in a sandwich then ,the only downside is the bear had really bad breath but that was my experience with a wild bear
