A recent performance of Broadway's "An Enemy of the People" was interrupted on Thursday by a climate protester. Identifying as part of Extinction Rebellion, the protester interrupted the show three times, shouting slogans like "No theater on a dead planet." Afterward, the cast, including Michael Imperioli, helped in ushering out the protester.

Following this incident, Imperioli apologized to the man, stating that while his "character" didn't support the protesting, he personally supports science. He said this incident was the result of the failure of governments and corporations to address the ongoing climate crisis. On that note, the play's subject matter ironically hits very close to the topic as it deals with a scientist getting blacklisted after discovering a dark secret about the town he lives in.
