Miami Beach has faced significant issues with crime and disorder during past spring break seasons, NBC 6 reports. Now, local city officials are implementing strict measures to address these issues and ensure safety during the busiest weekends in March. This will include an increase in police presence from the Florida Highway Patrol, and other local municipal agencies will also be deployed.

During the busiest weekends in March, parking at a municipal garage in Miami Beach will have a flat rate of $100, and the fee for retrieving a towed vehicle will increase to $516 for the entire month. However, some business owners have expressed concerns that the strict measures might backfire, pushing larger crowds into other areas and exacerbating chaos and frustration among visitors.
