We all know about the tallest buildings, but what about the tallest collection of skyscrapers? Which metros sport the best collection of skyscrapers, and does a certain country claim ownership compared to the rest of the world?
Buildworld analyzed more than a hundred thousand skyscrapers and high rise buildings in every major city in the world, and put together some infographics about the tallest skylines. This included data from 1900 to May of 2023, and any buildings that were destroyed as well.

With the help of the Burj Khalifa, Dubai in the UAE still has the tallest skyline in the world. The average height of skyscrapers there is 323.9 meters (1062.7 feet).

Number two is New York City, where the average is just shy of 300 meters (981.3 feet) in height.

The most common country on the list is China, which has nine cities in the top 20. Shenzhen comes closest to topping New York City, at 296.1 meters (971.5 feet) on average.
