To find out which parts of the country are most foul-mouthed, BonusFinder compiled a list of US state subreddits and scraped the top 'Hot' posts from each, along with their full comment threads. The states were then ranked according to which used the most profanities per Reddit post.
Key Findings:

The state that swears the most overall is Texas, with 4,743 curse words counted from just 691 posts — that's almost seven per post, on average.

Ohio follows closely behind, with an average of 6.7 profanities per post.

The third-most foul-mouthed region is Florida. According to the study, Reddit users in the Sunshine State use an average of 6.5 swear words in each post.
According to this analysis, Reddit's college sports fans are pretty vulgar, too.
