Climate change is coming for us all, but the effects are not spread out evenly across the globe β€” or even in the US. While some states have extreme risk of damage from hurricanes or tornadoes, others are fighting fires.

The folks at HouseFresh took data from Risk Factor and RedFin to see which US states and cities have real estate listings with the highest risk for fire, flood, wind and heat to make these nifty infographics. We're focusing in on fires, but you can find a lot more here.

Key Findings:

  • Wyoming has the highest fire risk for real estate listings, and it isn't even close. 90.7 percent of listings have a "major" risk while the second-place finisher, Arizona, reaches just 53 percent.

  • The South West and the Great Plains are the regions in the worst shape β€” by a lot. The South East is middling at best, but the rest of the country is relatively low-risk.

  • As far as cities go, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Riverside, California and Colorado Springs, Colorado have the riskiest listings with 62, 59.2 and 46.4 percent, respectively, categorized as "extreme" risk.

Something else you should consider is how much your tax bill will change when you move.
