New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is the most-visited museum in the country, but does that mean it's the most popular?

To find out which US museum is considered the best by tourists and locals alike, AirportParkingReservations.com compiled a list of the top 15 museums in each state, then analyzed search volume data and Google reviews, and ranked them according to which are most-searched for and most highly rated.

Key Findings:

  • According to the study, Graceland, Elvis Presley's former home in Memphis, is the most popular museum in America. The historic landmark has racked up a whopping 1.29 million Google reviews, as well as 40,500 searches a month.

  • The country's second-favorite museum is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with 201,000 monthly searches. Famous for being the location of the yearly Met Gala event, the Met has the second-highest number of Google reviews on the list, at 781,558.

  • If you're looking for a cultural experience outside of art, you might want to visit number five on the list, Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The Rock Hall receives 110,000 monthly searches on Google and has 123,892 reviews.

How in the world did they miss all of the museums in Washington, D.C.? (I realize in their methodology that they went state-by-state, but this is a huge miss.)
