According to the latest revision of the UN World Population Prospects report, the forecasts for the world's six largest countries are going to change drastically within the next 50 years.

The data shows that while India and China continue to rise above the rest, their fates will have swapped over the course of the next five decades. These projections are based on an assumption that a "medium fertility scenario" is achieved, which means a birth rate of 1.85 children per woman by 2050.

China, which recently lost its title as the most populated country, will likely fall 700 million short of leader India over the next 50 years. America is projected to fall behind Nigeria and Pakistan by 2050, no longer making it the third most populated country on Earth. As birth rates around the world continue to fall, these projections also state that no other nation will reach the one billion mark in the future.
