Many of our everyday purchases have become pricier in recent years, and streaming services are no exception. Netflix is one of the worst offenders, now costing $15.50 a month, compared to just $8 in 2011 โ but how much are other countries paying?
Visual Capitalist's Preyash Shah mapped the cost of a basic monthly Netflix subscription around the world using figures from December 2023, converting the prices to US dollars.
The priciest Netflix subscription can be found in Switzerland, where you'll be paying $21.48 a month. Denmark and Greenland are tied for second place, with both charging $16.46 for a basic monthly package.
The cheapest place to be a Netflix subscriber is Pakistan, where the services has a monthly cost of just $2.82. Following closely behind is Turkey, at $3.38 a month.
