Halloween is fast approaching, and with it comes nights in watching scary films — but how many of them were filmed where you live?
To reveal the most popular US filming locations for horror movies, InsureMyTrip used IMDb to find out how many films in the horror genre were filmed in each of the country's 100 most populous cities. Any cities with duplicate names, both in the US and worldwide, were left out of the study.
Key Findings:

The most popular state to film a horror movie in is California, which has served as a location for almost 2,500 titles.

Just over 1,000 horror movies were filmed in Texas, putting the state in second place.

In terms of cities, Pittsburgh is America's most popular filming location, with 104 horror movies filmed there, according to IMDb.

The LA and Orange County areas are also a popular choice for horror filmmakers, with 800 scary movies having been filmed there.
