We're in mid-October, which means that if you haven't yet figured out what you'll be for Halloween, you'd better get it sorted now before all the Spirit Halloweens near you are depleted.
If you need some help with costume ideas, AT&T's All Home Connections team analyzed data from Google searches and trends to find out which costumes were most commonly searched in every US state. Here's what they found.
The top three most popular costumes
- Cat — the most-searched costume in 12 states
- Witch — most-searched in 11 states
- Vampire & Buzz Lightyear — a tie; both are the most-searched in six states
Standouts
Five costumes (or costume ideas) were the most-searched in just one state each:
- Dragon — the most-searched costume in Idaho
- Eleven — the most-searched costume in Maine
- Zombie — the most-searched costume in West Virginia
- Ninja — the most-searched costume in Wyoming
- Top Gun — the most-searched costume (theme) in Rhode Island
- Wednesday Addams — the most-searched costume in Montana
- Minion — the most-searched costume in Hawaii
