Despite being a rocky year for the US economy, 2023 saw the country's real GDP grow by a surprising 2.5 percent overall โ and if we zoom in a little, we can also see how things looked from state to state.
Using Bureau of Economic Analysis data, Visual Capitalist ranked the top ten US states for fastest-growing real GDP in 2023.
In first place is North Dakota, where the real GDP grew by 5.9 percent in 2023, compared to the previous year. Following closely behind is Texas, with a growth of 5.7 percent, and Wyoming, with 5.4 percent.
Rounding off the top five states are Alaska and Oklahoma, which both saw their real GDP increase by 5.3 percent over the same period.
