Redditor u/canadianbuilt told r/Calgary that their 11-and-a-half-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog Brooke had only a couple more days left on this Earth and asked if anyone knew a place that could provide her some snow.

The post went viral and numerous Redditors posted suggestions. Thankfully, the good Samaritans at Bowness Sports Plex came through and started piling snow outside their house.

The Redditor posted Brooke's reaction to getting to lay in a snowbank one last time.

After the outpouring of support for their dearly departed pup, Brooke's owner gave a lengthy thank you to the community for caring so much.

My wife and I have had 3 bernese mountain dogs 2 have passed and we still have 1 Jackson. All of witch were our whole world. They are special with out a doubt. They are only around a short time so you have to make the time count and yes they love snow. Great story brought back many memories. Thanks so much for sharing! I cried the whole time I read this

this hit me hard. We lost our gentle giant Siberian/German shepherd mix in Feb. this year, I take comfort in the fact that his last day was spent doing his favorite things, he even came and told me he wanted to go for a walk, when he hadn't been walking well. He sat on the porch, his favorite spot all afternoon. He had a great last day, and that has made losing him easier. Take comfort in those things, they went out happy.

  5. wow this hit home. my 12 yr old Golden, Emma, is hospice as well. She loves the snow but wont live til next winter..in May she had a 4 month prognosis..I hope it snows all the time at the Rainbow Bridge
