View persistence on desktop
Just noticed that on desktop, whenever I switch to compact view, it shortly will switch itself back to comfy. It's not immediately on page refresh, but it seems to happen fairly quickly. Is this a bug, or is the selection meant to not be a persistent user preference?
Helpful error messages around comment restrictions would be awesome
I was just writing a response comment to someone (on desktop) and when I hit post, I got a little error banner in the lower right that just said "server returned unsuccessful result." Thought it was just a backend issue, so I waited a few moments and tried again. Same error. So t
Suggestion: Remove digg/bury controls from profile pages
UX and platform civility suggestion here. I think the digg/bury controls should be removed from profile pages – at least when viewing the comment pivot, but possibly also posts. The current UX facilitates (and in some ways, I would say *encourages* even though I don't think it's
Feature request: post-block "peek"
Currently, when viewing a post, if there is a comment from a blocked user the equipment is replaced by a plaintext statement saying as much. This is a fantastic baseline experience, but it would be awesome if there was a way to temporarily override the block to make a specific ve
Desktop notification quirk/bug
On the desktop/browser version, I am noticing a weird behavior with notifications. If I click the bell, and then click on the notification in the flyout, it takes me to the relevant post – and when the post opens, the dot disappears from the notification button + if I expand the

Gojira to Release “Powerful” New Album in 2026
Stoked for this. I actually hadn't ever heard of them, prior to catching them as one of the openers at a Metallica show back in 2017, but it's been awesome watching them continue to blow up since then.
Big Boi Teams With Whirpool for Washer-Dryer That Plays “So Fresh, So Clean”
This is definitely one of those cross promotion moments that makes you wince, then chuckle…and then feel a little more empty inside & hopeless about the future of the species.
Category vs. Community
Last night, I was thinking about why the 'diggsite' nomenclature (or insert your favorite recently-suggested alternative) resonates with me so much. I think the biggest reason, aside from thematic appropriateness, is that it's actually more *generic*. Bear with me here, because t
The makers of Eve Online are working on an ‘evil’ crypto spinoff they couldn’t shut down if they wanted to
As someone who has just recently started to dip my toe into regular EVE, this entire concept seems horrible from a gameplay and community perspective…but admittedly interesting from a platform perspective.
Post body previewing?
Has there been any discussion or design exploration around the possibility of giving a glimpse of post body content while skimming through the feed? While I don't have a problem with people creating link-only posts, I do appreciate it when someone has a little personal POV or con
Ron Gallo on Audiotree Live (Full Session)
Little bit of a throwback, but wanted to share one of my favorite under the radar live performances on YouTube. Around the time of this recording, I went to a concert where Ron's band was opening, having literally never even heard of them before rolling through the doors. Blew my
Tools to facilitate healthy discussion
Many moons ago, when I was a wee undergrad, I went to a grad student research talk. Their work was all about online discourse, specifically contentious debate about loaded topics (frankly quite a bit ahead of its time, since this was like 15ish years ago). And they built proof of

Any good finance chat communities?
Eagerly looking forward to this community taking off at growing into something amazing! At the same time, also wondering if folks here can recommend any chat communities (discord, signal, whatever) that are a good mix of chill/welcoming/informed? I am in the discord server assoc
Auto select community when posting?
Not sure if others disagree, but I think it would be a really nice QoL feature if when clicking the "new post" button while viewing a community, that community would be the initial selection in the subsequent drop down.
Why are liberals cozying up to race scientists?
The article discusses how race science is subtly infiltrating mainstream political discourse, exemplified by the New York Times' handling of a controversial college application. It highlights the broader acceptance of 'race realism' on the right, influencing policies on affirmative action and DEI programs.
