Desktop notification quirk/bug

On the desktop/browser version, I am noticing a weird behavior with notifications. If I click the bell, and then click on the notification in the flyout, it takes me to the relevant post – and when the post opens, the dot disappears from the notification button + if I expand the flyout the notification has disappeared. All expected behavior. But then as soon as I navigate away from the post, the dot returns, and the notification for that post reappears in my notification list. Manually marking it as read is the only way to permanently dismiss it. Is this a known bug? Or is something funky happening on my client end?
