BUT DOCTOR, I AM MARIO

Here at Digg, we try our best to cover the most important and confounding memes that come across the timeline. But the web is littered with tons of great memes that never quite hit the mainstream and instead just bounce around the weird corners of Twitter or Reddit.

Enter our recurring feature, Memes, Ranked. This week, we've got "Is there a doctor on board?", Evan Hansen crying, "We are not the same" and Chris Pratt as Mario.

4. Is There A Doctor On Board?

The meme

It's one of those moments that you see in movies all the time: when someone on a plane yells, "Is there a doctor on board?" Real life doesn't often bring this level of drama our way, but for the doctors among us, it's best to be prepared — especially if you're not the kind of doctor who can actually, uh, help.

3. Evan Hansen Crying

The meme

When it was announced that Ben Platt would reprise his Tony-winning role as the eponymous character in the musical "Dear Evan Hansen," many people had their doubts. Then, when the actual trailer was released, and viewers observed that the 28-year-old actor appeared way too old to pull off being a high schooler, things looked even grimmer. But now that the movie is finally out, the raw hilarity of having a full-grown man attempt to portray teenage emotions is more apparent than ever.

A screenshot of an obviously 28-year-old Platt crying his head off during an emotional moment in the film began circulating with snarky comments. The histrionic feel of this image of Evan Hansen crying makes it a perfect candidate to become the new crying Jordan meme of our time.

2. We Are Not The Same

The meme

Everyone loves a comeback, and just because a meme has popped up before doesn't mean we can't appreciate its new iterations when it comes back. One of the memes to do so recently is the "we are not the same" meme, first covered by us when it took off in 2019.

The meme came back with a vengeance last week, and this time, the takes are as sharp and creative as ever, taking inspiration from books, TV shows and fairly nonsensical or crass scenarios to envision a world where an imaginary romantic opponent of yours are not in the same position as you. They might be in his DMs, but you're here reading Digg and sharing the best memes of the week with him. The two of you are not the same.

1. Chris Pratt As Mario

The meme

Chris Pratt, an innocuous movie-star best known for bumbling but charming roles, was recently cast as everyone's favorite plumber in the titular role of a future "Super Mario" movie. Alongside a star-studded cast, the Internet couldn't grasp how Pratt was going to pull this off. You know it's rough when you make Italians and gamers angry.
