Governors in New York and New Jersey declared a state of emergency last night after the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida led to numerous flash floods and tornadoes in sections of both states.

At least 24 people have died from the flooding — eight in New York City, and one in and one in Passaic, New Jersey — and many areas in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania are still facing power outages.
