Windows 10 security fix

Hey there, I'm not a big computer guy, but I am still running Windows 10 and I'm worried about that whole fiasco with not being able to get any more security updates. I stopped torrenting things a while back because I'm afraid I'm exposed to risks. For those who know, can I trust torrents on piratebay from users with the green or pink skull to not have any viruses attached to them? Like I said, I'm not a computer guy so I don't even know if I am right about what is going on. I'd love a bit of an explanation maybe and also, I saw this fix posted a while back and was wondering if it was legit and would keep me current? Thanks!
