The Richest Towns In America

Every year, Bloomberg ranks the United States' 25 richest towns in terms of average household income. This year's rankings are out, and for the third year running, Atherton, California — the Silicon Valley town home to many tech billionaires — leads the list, with an average household income of $450,696. Scarsdale, a New York City suburb in Westchester County, comes in second, at $417,335: 

Unsurprisingly, the wealthy towns are not evenly distributed, but rather are clustered in a handful of counties near New York, LA, Chicago and Washington DC.
