Can books name drop? If they could, this one would be like Hedda Hopper crossed with TMZ crossed with, well, Rolling Stone. Featuring nearly one thousand covers from the magazine's first fifty years, "Rolling Stone 50 Years of Covers" is a journey that begins somewhere in 1967 and travels a long, mind blowing, star-studded road, eventually dropping us in present day 2017. It's a compulsive page turner featuring face after face of who's who in music, politics, and entertainment — from a black and white newsprint photo of John Lennon to a full glossy shot of Elon Musk holding a space helmet.

Alongside the covers are quotes from the celebs and photographers, as well as excerpts from articles that appeared inside the magazine. An introduction from Rolling Stone's founding (and current) publisher Jann Wenner goes deep into what it's been like to helm one of the most influential magazines of our time. And as for those droppable names, you get covers featuring Sting, Prince, Adele, Madonna, Jewel, Rihanna, Shakira, Eminem — and that's just (some of) the people with one name.
