This book delivers the two things you need to become a better artist: Inspiration and homework. It's the hands-on companion to author/teacher/photographer Henry Carroll's series of books from recent years, starting with 2014's "Read This If You Want to Take Great Photographs," followed by books for photographing people and places.

"Use This If You Want to Take Great Photographs" can be thought of as a mini, self-directed class. The inspirational photography comes from master photographers and includes a brief interpretation/instruction from Carroll along with a prompt on the facing page asking you to use the technique in your own work. There are even adhesive corners included to let you add your photos directly to the book. Work through all 128 pages and by the end you'll no doubt be a better photographer than you already are.
