Here at Digg, we try our best to cover the most important and confounding memes that come across the timeline. But the web is littered with tons of great memes that never quite hit the mainstream, instead bouncing around the weird corners of Twitter or Reddit.

Enter: our recurring feature, Memes, Ranked, where we not only rank the funniest memes each week, we also keep a running top 10 of the best memes of 2019. Skip to that here.

For the week of July 8, we have a handful of contenders: Bagel Boss, You're Too Sexy Aha, Walk A Mile In These Louboutins and Hot Girl Summer.

4. You're Too Sexy Aha

The meme: A slow burn meme, this simple Twitter joke has had it coming for a while. First viral in January of this year, it's one liner meme format about begging someone to not do something because they're "too sexy aha."

The examples:

Verdict: This is a meme about toxicity. This is a meme about relationships. This is a meme about succumbing to the crappy person inside all of us. That's about it. Fourth place this week.

3. Walk A Mile In These Louboutins

The meme: A TikTok meme where people wear insane things as shoes and then strut around in them, all while "Work" by Iggy Azalea plays in the background.

The examples:

Verdict: TikTok is a meme factory. But these beauties managed to escape their home app and infiltrate others, like Twitter and Instagram. They also have the tough job of making an Iggy Azalea song sound cool. Good meme.

2. Hot Girl Summer

The meme: Grown from a line in a Megan Thee Stallion song to a full meme, Hot Girl Summer is something of a cultural phenomenon. Kate Lindsay at Refinery 29 has a good explainer about exactly what Megan Thee Stallion means when she says it.

The examples:

Verdict: Like many memes before it, Hot Girl Summer prevails because, well, its definition is nearly as fun as the sound of the phrase itself. Say it with me: "Hot. Girl. Summer." This is a great, simple meme with an infinitely relatable premise: anyone can be hot when they declare themselves so. I predict that you're going to see it in a lot of Instagram captions and ironic Twitter/Reddit posts between now and September 21.

1. Bagel Boss

The meme: Okay. So on Wednesday a video of a man having an absolute meltdown in a bagel store went super viral. With a heavy Long Island accent, the man went on a misogynistic tirade aimed an "women in general" until he was, uh, interrupted. I've embedded the video below, but please understand that in it is some fairly disturbing content that might bother you if you don't spend all day watching insane internet videos like I do.

In addition to a sparking conversations about misogyny and Long Island bagel stores, the bagel boss' hilarious and warped quotes were instantly memed.

The examples:

Verdict: Bagel Boss stands for a lot of what's wrong in the world, but from what I've seen, most seem to grasp that. The one undoubtedly good thing he gave us β€” his amazing soundbites β€” will hopefully live on separated from their context. And if you disagree, you can try to stop us, but good luck. You're not god, my father or my boss.
