​Jeb Bush's 2016 primary run never really got off the ground, and it reached its nadir in February 2016 when he implored a uninterested crowd to "please clap." He dropped out of the race two weeks later. The moment is still sad and funny:

 

These days, Howard Schultz is the rich, uninspiring presidential wannabe making a go at it, and now, along with the poor poll numbers, Schultz has his "please clap" moment, which came while giving a talk at Purdue University:
