What Do The Critics Have To Say About 'Zoolander 2'?
SO COLD RIGHT NOW
·Updated:
·

The original Zoolander is a cult classic, and — perhaps against their better judgment — Ben Stiller and co. are trying to recapture the magic with Zoolander 2, which is out this Friday.

The Critics Are… Not Impressed

"Zoolander 2 has the structure and inspiration of an obligatory money grab." [The New Republic

"[A] disappointment-slash-misfire, the orange mocha crappuccino of movie sequels." [Variety

"[It] feels sad and desperate, like a comic who doesn't know when to get off stage." [EW]

"[T]his is the kind of lame, warmed-over movie that gives sequels a bad name." [Washington Post

"Profoundly unfunny Zoolander 2 faceplants on the runway." [HitFix

"Zoolander 2 Is As Stupid and Out of Touch as Derek Zoolander Himself." [SlashFilm

"The sequel to the 2001 cult comedy is way too desperate for your approval." [The Verge

"For pure comedy, you're better off with one of those online mega-mix videos of models falling down on the runway." [The Wrap

"[T]ike a cute little outfit burdened with too many accessories, Zoolander 2 is a victim of overkill." [The Hollywood Reporter

Though A Few Were (A Little Bit) More Forgiving

"It's a bizarre and pointless spectacle, but not an unamusing one." [AV Club

"Zoolander 2 takes the jokes from the original and recycles them with a few minor tweaks, and the resulting film, while still very funny in fits and starts, never quite hits the high notes of its predecessor."  [IGN

"Derek and Hansel are back on the catwalk 14 years on – and though age may have withered their cutting comedy edge, there's still fun to be found in the familiarity." [The Guardian

"Yes, it's far from deep – but this Zoolander sequel delivers what fans will be after: ample celeb cameos and an equal amount of lunatic plotting." [Time Out

And Then There's This Guy

"Zoolander 2 is every bit as good as the classic." [NY Daily News

According to the reviews, Deadpool is very good, so maybe spend your ticket money on that.
