In the midst of a zany convention, Republican VP nominee and Indiana Governor Mike Pence's headlining speech at the Republican National Convention seemed like a dose of normality. Pence set the tone for the speech with his self-deprecating explanation for why Donald Trump selected him as his VP:
You know he's a man known for a large personality, a colorful style and lots of charisma, and so I guess he was just looking for some balance on the ticket.
