Buster Keaton Was A Master At Doing Dumb Stuff On Film
The other day we posted a video on Digg called "Proof That Buster Keaton Was The Bravest Man To Have Walked The Earth." In it, old-school actor, filmmaker and stuntman Buster Keaton does a bunch of insane things that make even the best stuntmen and stuntwomen today look like kids jumping out of tree forts.
All of this can be seen in this dope Imgur gallery, appropriately posted today by silentmoviegifs.
But Keaton was a lot more than just a stuntman. Throughout his long and accomplished career dating back to the silent movie days,1 he had his hands in some of the most important movies ever made. And because he was so great and the internet is a beautiful thing, it's easy to find a bunch of his work online for free.
Here's Keaton doing the things he did best in "Sherlock Jr.", a silent film from 1924.
And here he is in the 1920 comedy short, "Neighbours."
Perhaps Keaton's greatest accomplishment on screen was the 1926 silent film, "The General."
And because Orson Wells once referred to "The General" as one of the greatest films of all time, here's a goofy Keaton short called "The Goat."
You know, cause he's the GOAT.2
