What If The 'Star Wars' Prequels Were Good?
Everyone knows the prequels fell somewhere between a letdown and a loud, expensive trainwreck. Is it possible to salvage the plot elements, and reimagine a better version of these despised films?
The short answer to that largely-rhetorical question is: yes, thanks to Belated Media. They've taken the core goals of the prequels and found ways to express them in ways make sense. It also took them almost four years to make these three videos1.
Episode I:
First change: "The Phantom Menace" gets an actual, defined main character.
Episode II:
Guess what doesn't matter? Anakin and Padme's gross relationship. So let's just toss that out.
Episode III:
More major changes, less fan service, and a different, more satisfying ending. Hell yes.
As good as these rewrites are, the experience is bittersweet because nothing can ever full undo the awfulness of the prequels. But these come close. Very, very close.
