Remember Deepseek? Not even a year ago. Everybody said it was supposed to be a "game changer", because it was "same or even better than GPT but free and open source".

Plus plenty of talk about Nvidia chips, discussions about whether China had the best chips or not. Plenty of super smart people claiming that it was revolution, using highly sophisticated technical arguments thanks to which everybody was convinced. That's what I remember.

So what happened?
