Levels.io Describes Gauntlet Loop AI Coding as Chaotic and Costly
Founder details repeated failed attempts leading to messy code and expenses.
Pieter Levels shared his unsuccessful experiences attempting to use what he called a Gauntlet Loop approach when coding with AI tools. According to his account, these efforts consistently produced chaotic and inefficient code that required extensive manual fixes afterward. He also mentioned incurring $500 in costs that had to be addressed by reverting to previous states. Levels indicated that a methodical process building one element at a time works better for him. The discussion drew attention from Austen Allred, who founded an AI training program and inquired about the specific loop mentioned.
Every time I do a Gauntlet Loop I end up with a total mess and chaos of unperformant code and too many things happening and nothing works properly And I burn $500 I have to clean everything up manually and get back to what I had The only way for me to AI code is just step by…
@levelsio @0xPaulius Just a thought: separate claude 200 max sub, cloned dogfight three.js app, gauntlet prompt for a day to port from 'draft' to 'realistic' version, then /loop "make it more realistic (look, physics, etc)" What will you have in 1 month from now?
