Guillermo Rauch posted that skipping code review is acceptable when a developer is a beginner, building throwaway software, prototyping, has no users or revenue, is taking on debt and risk, or faces only basic problems. He added that all of these remain fine. Daniel Jeffries replied that developers must still read their code today even as agents improve, noting he switched from Cursor to Codex setups with Claude or Kimi models that reach higher autonomy levels yet still require oversight.
