OpenAI says it is rolling out an update that makes ChatGPT Voice a more capable way to use its connected services and Work environment. In an announcement, the company said Voice can now use plugins for email, calendar and Slack, and can run with GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna.

The update also brings Voice into ChatGPT Work on the web and mobile. OpenAI says users can speak to create documents, decks, websites and spreadsheets, or tackle more involved tasks in a browser without having to type every instruction.

The change matters because Voice is no longer framed only as a conversational interface. OpenAI is positioning it as an input method for the same work that people might otherwise start in a text chat: calling up connected information, creating an artifact and directing a longer browser task.

OpenAI said the features were rolling out globally in the latest app version. Access to connected services can likewise be shaped by the permissions already attached to those services.

What the model list changes

The company specifically named GPT-6 Astra, Sol and Luna for Voice. Its recent notes describe Sol and Luna as additions to ChatGPT Work and Codex, while Voice had already been able to call on GPT-6 Astra for harder questions. The new announcement puts those capabilities together in the Voice experience, but it does not mean every account will see every model or plugin at the same time.
