Gergely Orosz posted that a senior software engineer identifying as a creator at an e-commerce company sent him an AI-written email requesting a Substack recommendation. After reviewing several articles on the newsletter, Orosz determined they were all generated content with no human edits. He shared his response to the sender. Orosz also mentioned that Substack provides an AI writing detector tool available to readers and writers. In a reply, Peter Yang asked Orosz to identify the engineer.

3 postsSubstack has this AI writing detection tool (that of course cannot be fully accurate) available to both readers and writers. This writer did not even bother running this check and making the smallest of changes to remove obvious AI writing mannerisms from these AI articles…
