TLDR
At GitHub Universe, GitHub announced it was seeing 7.4 billion commits a month, The New Stack reports. GitHub attributes much of the growth to AI-agent demand and says it has added 4 million CPU cores and 160 petabytes of storage so far this year. It also plans to separate computing and storage; the potential throughput gain comes from GitHub's internal benchmarks.
