Nintendo's reported totals put Switch 2 at 26.35 million, original Switch at 157.20 million

Nintendo’s worldwide lifetime hardware sales reached 26.35 million Switch 2 consoles and 157.20 million original Switch consoles as of Sept. 30, 2026, VideoCardz reports. Nintendo Life also puts Switch 2 sales at 26.35 million, citing Nintendo’s financial report.

VideoCardz reports that lifetime Switch 2 software sales reached 73.21 million units. Nintendo maintained its forecast of 16.5 million Switch 2 consoles for the fiscal year ending March 2027, according to VideoCardz and Nintendo Life. That figure is a sales target, not a lifetime total.

The reports diverge on the latest quarter. VideoCardz and CNBC put Switch 2 hardware sales for July through September at 2.67 million units; Nintendo Life instead gives 6.29 million for what it calls the most recent quarter.
